10 Things You Must Do In Dublin

14:47

It’s been a year since I was in Dublin, Ireland, and I remember everything like it was yesterday! My friends and I spent two weeks there and these were the best of the summer. The truth is that at first I didn’t think I was going to like it that much but now I'm sure I will come back at some point in my life to this beautiful city. Have you noticed my attack of nostalgia? Well, to combat it (at least a little bit) today I’m going to tell you 10 things you MUST do in Dublin (from my opinion obviously). Here they go:

/Enjoy the green on St. Stephen's Green Park, while you relax by lying in the grass or by feeding the ducks and swans. This park is absolutely beautiful, and my favorite of the many there are (still hallucinate with the amount of landscapes and green zones you can enjoy in this city).

/Visit the Temple Bar area at night, it's great! Enjoy the good atmosphere, bars, music ... Specifically I will recommend the bar The Norseman: live music, excellent staff and a super Irish look. Also, if you ask, the waiter will add a delicious strawberry liqueur in your Guinness so that it isn’t too bitter. It’s perfect for people who don’t like the taste (guilty).

/Visit the Guinness factory and test, at least once, the Guinness beer. It is very interesting to learn the history of Guinness, how this is made, how it has evolved its image... The entry included a free guide voice recorder that will explain the different areas where you go and what you'll see throughout the visit (and in the language you prefer). In the end, the best way to end this experience is to go up to the top floor and enjoy your Guinness (or other drink if you like) while admiring the spectacular views. You can see all Dublin!

/Hire a trip to a nearby town to Dublin: I recommend Wicklow because it's where I went but there are many other excursions that you can be informed on tourist offices located throughout the city (I went to the one that it was right in front of Trinity College). Wicklow was one of the things that I liked most of the trip. It is a south county of Dublin and the tour we hire, had included the visit to the town and then the mountains. Wicklow Mountains are truly breathtaking and the reason I fell in love with Wicklow. Views that take your breath away and countless green landscapes. Strongly recommended!

/Visit Trinity College and especially the library. As a good fan of Harry Potter I couldn’t miss the Old Library. Some people say that here were recorded scenes from the movies and others say that the library was only an inspiration for these scenes, but the truth is that it is almost identical to the one of the movies and truly you will feel like you're at Hogwarts and at any moment you can find Hermione reading a book.

/Go shopping! (my favorite part). I especially recommend the area of O'Connell Street, where you can find Penney's (Primark in Spain), which has incredible prices, and many more stores. For souvenirs, the best option is to go to Carrolls, in which we could spend hours wandering around and looking at all the things in this store. It is impossible to leave this shop empty handed. Ah! And try the clover shaped cookies, you won’t regret it;).

/Speaking of food, you must try the cheesecake (Baileys Cheesecake) of the Queen of Tarts cafe on Dame Street. I savored each piece. I didn’t want it to end! You can thank me later.

/Spend a day visiting Phoenix Park and the zoo, located inside. Nothing better than a day walking (or cycling) through this giant and beautiful park. You can even have a picnic. Dublin Zoo is not one of the best, but undoubtedly is a place where you will have fun and will enjoy the animals, no matter what your age is.

/Go walking everywhere. Okay, It is easier said than done, but Dublin is a city where everything is usually very close. I just took the bus on a couple of occasions. When you walk you enjoy the city more and you realize how beautiful it is.

/Talk to people. It may seem strange but I mean asking for help when it’s needed. If you are lost or you want to know how to go to a place, just ask. Most Irish people will help you without looking angry, and even they can come to you if they see you very lost. How I miss Dublin people!

¡Besis!

And here are my recommendations. I hope you find it useful and if you have any questions, about prices or places, or anything else, leave it in the comments and I'll try to resolve it. Be happy. Kisses!
